Laura Yassky, Scotch’s
owner, was supposed to take a different puppy and as pretty as the other
puppy was, my recommendation was that she should take Scotch. At that time
Scotch was marginally the better of the two and a few months older so I
could assess him better. A big part of showing dogs is attitude and Scotch
had that from day one! Now it was up to Laura to take this driven little
ball of fur and train him to become a show dog. As is always the case with
novice handlers and green puppies, the road was a bit bumpy to start with
but Laura persevered, used Agility and Rally training to her advantage,
asked lots of questions, immersed herself and her dog for long weekends at
Cavaliers of the Northeast Specialties and managed to seek out advice
from the best conformation trainers. It paid off! Bravo to Laura and her
first show dog, Scotch, on their success.
